King David begins Psalm 19 with this phrase; The heavens declare the glory of God… Immediately when I read that two questions come to mind. First, how do the heavens declare anything? Second what is the Glory of God being declared? To answer the first question, I believe David is referring to the vastness of the heavens, the volume of the heavens, the value of the heavens is such, that by the very existence of the heavens it announces, proclaims, declares something greater.

To the second question the Glory of God is the object of the heaven’s declaration. The very existence of the heavens directs all human focus toward God. God’s glory, his magnificence, his great power, plan and purpose are visibly displayed in the beauty and majesty of the heavens. If you’ve ever been outside in the wee hours of the night and looked to the sky the amazingness of God is evident. Whether one acknowledges it as God’s handiwork is another question, but clearly the declaration has been made!

David’s answer to those questions is in the second half of the verse as he says …and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. The creative power of God is the subject of the heaven’s declaration. As the sky proclaims his handiwork, work done personally by him…his handiwork proclaims his glory. The very existence of the heavens clearly points to a being of immense intelligence, wisdom, foresight, creativity, and power. The heavens, the product of this being’s ability, declares that a being with the ability to create the heavens with the majesty and glory it contains is a being of great glory, power, and character. A being with the ability to create all we witness in the heavens is a being that deserves all our worship, praise and ascribed glory! Of this there is no doubt!

The logical question that comes next is who is the one that created these heavens? We are given that answer in the first verse of the Bible. Seven Hebrew words state with no explanation, conversation, evaluation…simply this…Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz. Our English translation…In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The most important verse in the Bible states that Elohim, Yahweh, Adonai, El Shaddai, El Elyon, El Olam, Theos, Kyrios, Christos, Logos…God…is the creator! From his personal involvement, his handiwork, everything exists…everything! God is THE creator. His creative power through the very existence of his creation declare him to be God. What makes God…God? The very fact that he is the creator. If he had not created everything that exists, he would not be God.

Enter the detractor! There is one who has formed a plan to satisfy his own narcissistic self-focused cravings… Satan. His only desire…only desire…is to be worshipped as God! He’s attempted through various means to deny God as the creator. If he can deceive humanity into believing God is not the creator then he can insert doubt about just how glorious God is, about the power, nature and existence of God. If he can deny God the glory due him, he believes then he can redirect the hearts, minds and focus of humanity toward himself. His warped heart cannot accept the truth, God is the only one who deserves all the praise, worship and glory, if for nothing else but his creative product…the heavens, the earth…everything in it and on it!

An effective tool Satan has used in his ongoing attempt to deny God being God is with the theory of our origins. He has effectively inserted alternative explanations for our existence into the ethos of humanity. He’s been so successful that today most of the world believes or at least in some part accepts the idea that we came from a collection of natural selective processes through the modification of preexisting types over successive generations. This natural selection process and continued improvement to the species ultimately gave rise to humans. Obviously, the explanation Satan has convinced humanity of is the theory of evolution.

Unfortunately for Satan his theory has two major insurmountable impenetrable problems. The realities of irreducible complexity and spontaneous generation cannot be simply explained away. These two issues destroy the evolutionary argument. That and the truth that God DID create everything that exists and he did not do it over periods of millennia through evolutionary processes. So where does that leave Satan’s plan to deny God’s glory and avert all God’s deserved worship toward himself. In the dust! What does Satan do? He introduces the concept of Panspermia.

Panspermia is a belief that life was seeded on earth from other planets.

One possible theory in that ideology is life was seeded on earth by our alien space brothers. This solves evolutions two major problems. First 16 billion years is too short of time for life to have evolved from molten material to human beings. If life was created somewhere else, then brought here it’s safe to assume life could have been in the incubator for billions and billions of previous years. Second, the issues of irreducible complexity and spontaneous generation simply evaporate because we can’t understand how the processes worked on Alpha Centauri!

Panspermia is the impetus for the whole UFO alien contact disclosure conversation. A prime question raised and discussed from colleges of the highest learning, think tanks, and high level government halls to the corner Starbucks is just that! Are our alien brothers returning to reveal our origins and maybe move us along the evolutionary chain to a higher existence?

Last weekend my wife Ginny and I saw Steven Spielberg’s new movie Day of Disclosure. As a movie it was entertaining as any Steven Spielberg movie tends to be with good acting, well developed special effects, entertaining story and the like. But as you might expect at the end of the day it was just another propaganda hit piece promoting the existence of otherworld alien races contacting humanity. The general idea being that since the alien spaceship crash in Roswell New Mexico in 1947 there’s been ongoing increasing levels of engagement between humans and our alien space brothers.

The movie didn’t dig deep into the philosophy and ideology of evolution vs. creation, panspermia and the like but the very story places another brick in the wall supporting the lies Satan screams from the mountaintops every day. You can hear him whine “There is no God who created anything, you are all on your own, you exist only by the luck of the draw, you have no intrinsic value, life is ultimately meaningless, follow me and I’ll fulfill all your dreams while you live in this life. I am god listen to me!”

Jesus said in Luke 7, But wisdom is justified by all her children.

Meaning the value of a belief is understood by the results it creates. I watch Day of Disclosure, and I consider the ultimate results of that belief system as confusion, death, loss, hopelessness, meaningless, and eternal suffering. I read Genesis chapter 1, and I consider the ultimate results of that belief system as understanding, life, gain, hope, value, purpose, eternal joy, satisfaction and peace. Wisdom is justified by all her children. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of and faith in God.

Steven Spielberg has made a movie about Satan’s false Day of Disclosure. The Day of Disclosure I’m waiting for is when Jesus Christ fully discloses himself as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords in all his glory. That’s the true Day of Disclosure. The world says we arose out of molten lava and became human or that we’re the product of some alien teenager’s science project!

I think I’ll cling to Bereshit bara Elohim et hashamayim ve'et ha'aretz.
