Hey there! I’m Steve, one of the pastors at New Life Church. I want you to know that I’m thrilled that you’re thinking about checking us out. But I do want to be up front with you ... we are NOT a perfect church (but then, there aren’t any perfect churches).
We do however have hundreds of people who are genuine, sincere followers of Jesus. Shirley and I regularly thank God for placing us in this loving church family--I’m really not sure what we’d do without it.
No, none of us are perfect, but we’re all striving to keep JESUS front and center in the life of this church. People who are hungry to understand more about JESUS’ GOOD NEWS while learning to live out its implications will feel at home here.
Here’s a verse from scripture that describes our mindset and mission:
“We love because He first loved us” – I John 4:19
What to Expect
We call our Sunday worship gatherings “Celebrations.” Celebrations usually last about ninety minutes and consist of a focused time of heart-felt, Jesus-focused musical worship (with a mix of traditional and contemporary styles) and a 40-45 minute sermon straight from the Bible that centers on Jesus and His plans and purposes for our lives and for this world.
We believe in both team-teaching and team worship-leading so you’re likely to hear from a variety of speakers and worship leaders if you continue on with us. Most people dress casually when they attend, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly (remember, we’re not perfect J).
Our vibrant KidzLife Ministries (ages 0-5th grade) run concurrently with each Celebration and are staffed by caring volunteers who seek to teach children about the Gospel of Jesus in both large-group and small-group settings. Our Middle School students worship together in our 9AM Celebration for the first thirty minutes, then head upstairs to our Loft for a time of learning and connecting in EDGE, our Sunday morning ministry for that age-group. High School students gather in The Loft on Sunday nights at 6:30PM for Renew, a learning environment geared towards challenging students to understand and live out their faith in daily life.
Feel free to watch any of our Recent Sermons to get a better feel for our teaching ministry in Celebrations. Then, your next step of exploration after perusing this site is to check us out in person! We’d love for you to attend one of our upcoming Celebrations. If you do, please consider dropping by the Next Steps Center in our lobby to pick up a thank-you gift bag—our way of showing appreciation for your visit.
