Weapons Up #1 - We're at War! (Ephesians 6:10-13)
WELCOME (15 minutes)
Ice Breaker: What kind of a person are you when it comes to conflict? (Do you avoid it, seek it out, move to solve it quick, etc.)
WORSHIP (10 minutes)
Using your favorite streaming service, sing together “Song in My Soul” by Phil Wickham. Lyrics are on the back.
WIN (15 minutes)
- Pray for any lost people your group is reaching out to!
- Is it time to plan something FUN to do as a group to help you reach out to the people you are praying for?
WORD (25 minutes)
- When you hear the phrase “spiritual warfare,”what comes to mind — fear, confusion, curiosity, confidence?
- Read Ephesians 6:10–13.What stands out to you in Paul’s description of the battle? What does it mean to “be strong in the Lord” instead of in ourselves?
- “We were born not in a time of peace, but in a time of war.”How does that perspective change the way you see daily life — work, relationships, or temptations? Why do you think most people are unaware of the spiritual war around them? What helps YOU wake up to it without being afraid?
- The sermon repeated the phrase: “You don’t choose your war, but you do choose your weapons.”What weapons has God given us (see Ephesians 6:13–18)? Which one do you rely on least—and how could that change this week?
- What’s one practical way you can “be strong in the Lord” this week? (Examples: begin each morning in prayer, memorize a key verse, fast, encourage someone under attack, etc.)
WORKS (25 minutes)
- Break up into twos and threes. Pray for each other!
- Closing Prayer Challenge: End your group time by praying through Ephesians 6:10–18 together. When you get to the armor, assign everyone a piece of armor to pray about (thanking God, asking the Spirit to help us “take it up,” etc.)
