Relationship Goals #3 - Honor (Ehesians 6:1-4)
WELCOME (15 minutes)
Ice Breaker: Who’s someone you deeply respect or admire? What about them makes you want to honor them?
WORSHIP (10 minutes)
Using your favorite streaming service, sing together “Living Hope” by Phil Wickham. Lyrics are on the back.
WIN (15 minutes)
- Pray for any lost people your group is reaching out to!
- Is it time to plan something FUN to do as a group to help you reach out to the people you are praying for?
WORD (25 minutes)
- Talk about the marble illustration (weeks left). What thoughts or emotions did it invoke in you? Did God use it to speak to you? If so, what did He say through it?
- Read Ephesians 6:1–4. What stands out to you in these verses? What surprises you about Paul’s framing of obedience and honor? In what ways do you see our culture struggling to value or practice honor? The sermon taught that honor isn’t limited to parents and children but flows through every relationship. What does it look like to live that way in real life?
- Read 1 Peter 2:17 and Romans 12:10. What does it mean to “honor everyone” and to “outdo one another in showing honor”? Why do you think God commands honor even toward people who may not deserve it?
- Read Psalm 103:8–13 and Exodus 34:6–7. What does God’s “thousand-to-four” ratio tell us about His character? How does seeing God as “slow to chide and swift to bless” reshape the way you relate to your own family or friends? Where do you sense God inviting you to reflect His patience or blessing this week?
- “We honor because God first honored us.” What are practical ways to show honor in your home, workplace, friendships, or church?
WORKS (25 minutes)
Break up into twos and threes. Pray for each other!
