Dave Earley founded New Life Church in Gahanna, starting from his basement with just 12 people, and under his leadership the church grew to nearly 2,000 in weekly attendance with over 100 small groups. Before pastoring, he went on to teach at Liberty University’s seminary and lead several church expansion initiatives. He is also an author of many books, focusing on discipleship, evangelism, prayer, and pastoral leadership.
Steve Benninger became Lead Pastor of New Life Church in Gahanna in 2005 after Dave Earley stepped down. He has pastored for many years, is deeply committed to keeping the gospel central in the life of the church, and leads multiple campuses and ministries. He is married to his wife Shirley, and together they have three grown sons.
Jake Mills grew up in Abilene, Texas, was active in church from a young age, and pursued formal ministry training, including a Bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons and a Master’s in Practical Theology. He served in vocational ministries including youth ministry, missionary work in China, and lead pastor roles in Wisconsin and Illinois, all of which saw significant gospel-centered growth. In 2024, he became the Lead Pastor of New Life Church in Gahanna; he and his wife Erin have six children, including children adopted from foster care.
