Parent Information
Something to Ponder...
The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years. The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. What happens at home in many ways is more important than what happens at church!
We have hundreds of volunteers and staff every week creating ideas, crafting environments and coaching kids to help them grow up the right way. BUT WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
We need you to help us help your kids by doing 2 things.
- Make attending Kids Connection a priority.
Be sure to help them attend a consistent hour, so they can be with the same group of friends and the same leader every week. - Talk about it every week at home.
Remember, no one can have more influence on your child's faith than you can as a parent. Every classroom receives take home papers with highlights from the weekly lesson. Ask your kids, "What did you learn?" Instead of "Did you have fun?" When they see that you value what they are learning about, it will become more valuable to them. I know that we teachers always have fun, so I'm pretty sure that they do too.
